German Sustainability Award 2023 finalist

With its Remanufacturing solution, Girsberger provides a particularly sustainable service which has brought it to the finals of the German Sustainability Award 2023. For our company, it is a wonderful recognition of our efforts to make a decisive and inspiring contribution to the circular economy by offering a meaningful and cost-effective alternative to purchasing new products and therefore saving on resources.

The German Sustainability Award Foundation (Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V.) presents the award annually in partnership with the German government, the Sustainability Council and research institutions. The aim of this prestigious European award is to put a spotlight on the sustainable development of the economy. It seeks to show that responsible conduct does not only help solve social and ecological problems on a global or local scale, but can also boost profitability and competitiveness. We are therefore even more delighted that Girsberger Remanufacturing's services and business idea meet with approval at the highest level.

The jury's verdict

„The responsible use of resources is a key factor in a more sustainable economy. With its Remanufacturing solution, Girsberger offers manufacturer-independent services that focus on refurbishing or upcycling used furniture that would normally be disposed of. As a furniture manufacturer, Girsberger brings together all the necessary skills such as removal, joinery, metalworking, assembly, upholstery and lacquering. It thus offers everything required for remanufacturing from a single source. High-quality basic materials such as supporting structures and mechanisms made of wood, metal or plastic are retained where possible. Only unusable parts are replaced and properly disposed of.

Extending the life of furniture has a positive impact on the climate and environment in many different ways. With its inspiring Remanufacturing service, Girsberger is not only helping preserve many items of furniture, but is also promoting a new way of thinking in society."

We are delighted with this accolade and see it as encouragement to continue with this service as part of a circular economy. We now await the finals on 1 December with excitement. The winners of the various categories will be announced as part of the 15th German Sustainability Day in Düsseldorf.
