Girsberger has developed and produced 42 customized seats for the coach and player benches in SC Freiburg’s new Europa-Park stadium, which was planned by HPP architects. Thanks to a sophisticated padding structure, the seats offer exceptional comfort, including integrated, individually adjustable heating for the seats and backrests. The seats were designed in the CI colours of the football club and feature embroidered logos.
Specially developed for the SC stadium, the seats were based on the wooden shell of a tried and tested Girsberger seat, which was perfect for this purpose. A sophisticated foam padding structure consisting of different components sandwiched together ensures exceptional comfort, enhanced by integrated heating for the seats and backrests which can be adjusted individually. The hard-wearing covers made from synthetic leather feature the SC Freiburg and Girsberger logos.

The sophisticated covers include a section with a plastic rod. Its purpose is to allow the middle section of the back to be tightened and fixed to the other side with loop bands. A special tool was used to thread the bands through the holes to the other side where they were fixed, stapled down and then trimmed off. To finish, the reverse side was closed with a zip.
The seats were pre-assembled in units of four at the factory and the electrics were installed for the seat and backrest heating. After being transported to the stadium, the seats were installed on site within a day, including their electrical connections.
