On the move with the nomadic office – tool-free assembly and dismantling

Design studio atelier oï developed a “nomadic office” for the Contexta agency which can “move on” in the space of 24 hours. This specification is based on the new concept announced by the Swiss communications agency, which is looking to relocate every two to twelve months to locations which promise inspiration and are close “to the people”.

All furniture items can be assembled and dismantled without using tools. For transport, the components – which are made from plywood and hinged – are nested inside one another. Made-to-measure lashing straps serve to keep the furniture items stable in transit and also to secure the body elements, which themselves serve as packaging units.

Particular feature:
Girsberger Customized Furniture developed prototypes to test the practicability of the concept, and the challenge lay in realizing it in a highly economical and timely way.
