3M EMEA, Langenthal, Switzerland

Interior furnishings reflect CI at new head office

The company set up its European headquarters in an easily accessible location at Langenthal train station, Canton Berne, based on plans by Marazzi + Paul Architects. The globally active US Group is best known for its adhesive product brands “Post-it” and “Scotch”. 350 attractive new workspaces were created in an open-plan office layout. Around the world, 3M represents pioneering working and communication models.

The structural design also had to meet this requirement and was implemented by means of a transparent and communicative room concept. 3M’s new working and communication methods are supported by the appropriate office layouts. Informal meetings and discussions can be held anywhere. Shared offices are a kind of hybrid between a two-person office and a small meeting room. The room concept, colour selection and interior design reflect the philosophy and corporate identity of 3M.
