Office reference: Drimmelen Council chamber, Netherlands

Council chamber, Drimmelen municipality, Made, Netherlands

Multifunctional utilisation concept

The council chamber in the North Brabant municipality of Drimmelen was extensively refurbished based on a design concept by M+R interior architecture. The aim of the redesign was to create a multifunctional space that could be used not only for municipal council meetings, but also for training, presentations and wedding ceremonies.

A total of 27 Eyla swivel chairs upholstered in high-quality leather are now in place in the renovated chamber. The blue benches in the inner circle of the oval seating arrangement are reserved for wedding guests.

This new concept has enabled the municipality of Drimmelen to create a space that combines democracy, municipal networking and multifunctionality.

The visual design blends the interior with its surroundings, with photographs, a graphic rug and a carefully selected colour palette reflecting both the urban and the natural environment.
