Overhaul of tables and chairs in the L'Escale residential and care home
L'Escale residential and care home in the centre of La Chaux-de-Fonds provides a spacious living environment for around forty elderly persons. The meeting point and central hub of the home is a large dining room, where the tables and chairs were extremely well used.

The varnish on the wooden frames had been worn off in places, while the legs of the tables and chairs were dented and scratched.
Some of the seats had begun to sag, and the management of the home wanted to update the upholstery colours. After a successful trial refurbishment of one chair, Girsberger spent just four weeks overhauling more than eighty upholstered chairs.
The frames were sand blasted and smoothed, then three coats of varnish were applied. Our upholstery specialists replaced the foam in the seat pads and backrests and covered them with disinfectant-resistant faux leather. Following this, the tables were refurbished. Girsberger provided replacement chairs and tables while the work was carried out.
