Akio

A universal range of solid wood tables for offices and living spaces.
Design: Mathias Seiler
The most striking design feature of Akio is the steel struts, which give the angled solid wood legs greater stability and thus enable larger table top formats – either round, oval or rectangular – up to 320 cm in length. The edges of the solid wood tabletops are bevelled outwards, helping to create an appearance of lightness.

Intelligent stability

The steel reinforcing cross-pieces enable a self-supporting tabletop, dispensing with crossbeams or frames. The cross-pieces are also available in chromium-plated steel or black powder-coated.

Frictional connection

The use of cross pins to attach the reinforcing crossbeams to the wooden legs creates a frictional connection and is vaguely reminiscent of the wooden handle on an old kitchen knife.
