Girsberger press release: sculptural armchair Cina

Cina – a sculptural and mobile armchair

The Cina lounge chair is a mobile piece of furniture that is ideal for use in reception or communal areas, or in public or even private spaces. A leather handle on the rear of the backrest serves as a clear sign that Cina – thanks to its integrated castors – can be moved effortlessly from one place to another. Sebastian Herkner created a restrained sculptural form that offers a cosy sitting experience with a backrest that encloses the body, and a comfortably upholstered seat.

Cina is the perfect choice for lounge and reception areas, but is also ideal for collaborative areas in the office – in central spaces, for example. The optional castors make it easy to move around, and seating groups can be rearranged in the blink of an eye. Cina can also be used as an appealing standalone piece for a cosy sitting experience at home. A matching footstool is also available.

Cina’s striking outer shape resembles an upside-down cone with its tip cut off, while the extremely comfortable seating area comprises soft upholstery and a backrest that gently encloses the user.

The special stitching emphasises the characteristic shape of the chair.  The leather handle on the back is an attractive detail that indicates to users that the model is intended to be mobile.

The side table from the new Tala table programme is an ideal addition, and has been designed specifically for the seating heights of lounge chairs and sofas. Tala incorporates a round receptacle for writing instruments and accessories, created as a result of the steel tube protruding through the tabletop. Design: Mathias Seiler
