New headquarters for Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte eG
With 13 floors and a height of almost 57 metres, the ‘Donautower’ is a city landmark that can be seen from miles around. Staff from eight locations have been brought together at the new headquarters for a new form of collaboration in a modern and attractive working environment.
The building complex comprises a total of around 12,500 square metres of office space, of which the bank, as the owner, uses almost 7,000 square metres. Around 440 of the approximately 780 employees now work centrally in one building, with all internal areas having been brought together. In addition, branch, business and private banking customers can benefit from an advisory service provided in an attractive environment at a central and prestigious location. Employees use flexible workspaces with open areas, a variety of communication rooms and quiet zones – all in all a very pleasant place to be and to work.
The new concept, which was accompanied by a comprehensive change management process, incorporates the key elements of exclusively digital working, a clean desk policy and desk sharing. Girsberger was able to contribute to this new concept with its tried-and-tested swivel chair models such as the Yanos Flex, the Simplex 3D and a customised version of the Diagon Executive.
The building was constructed in accordance with the DGNB Gold Standard, and the prestigious certificate for highly sustainable construction will be awarded by the DGNB during 2026. A well-conceived energy concept, which includes photovoltaics, district heating and modern building technology, allow for the building to be operated in an environmentally friendly manner way that helps to save resources.
