The rounded mesh backrest gives Marva a transparent, lightweight appearance. It is also very comfortable, as it adapts to the contours of the back. The seat technology is almost entirely concealed within the round, generously-proportioned seat, making it virtually invisible. Despite this, Marva Net still has all the functions and adjustability you would expect of an ergonomic swivel chair: synchronic mechanism with automatic spring tension adjustment for dynamic sitting, precise adjustment of the seat, lumbar area, engageable negative seat tilt for upright sitting and multiple armrest settings.

Design

Mathias Seiler

Born in 1963, he studied industrial design at Hamburg University of Fine Arts under the tutelage of Prof. Dieter Rams. He has worked internationally as a product designer for various renowned furniture makers and has received numerous awards. Mathias Seiler has had overall responsibility for design and marketing at Girsberger since 2010.

The leather is tanned in an environmentally friendly way using olive leaf extract, which produces a more sustainable, ecological leather. The leaves used for tanning fall when the trees are shaken during the olive harvest and are processed into an extract with an environmental benefit. Minor colour variations and natural marks are possible with this leather and are characteristic of its natural state.
